Timur Kristóf
My name is Timur and I'm a software developer. (I study electronic engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.)
I have been a contributor to the community since early 2010. Since then, I have learned how to code with Qt, how to make Debian packages, and lately, how to package RPM (for both MeeGo and Fedora). I also have a good grasp about technology in general, and I'm also proficient with .NET and QML. (You can see some of my work on the botton of this page.)
Despite all the coding I've done so far, what I value most of all my contributions is the help I've given and am still giving to others. There have been numerous people whom I helped how to code in C++ and how to use Qt, how to install/use SDKs, and such things. I also enjoy collaborating with others such as Robin, Thomas, Mohammad, Carsten, David, and the others.
Outside of the Qt and mobile space, I'm in the Fedora community and am also a .NET developer at my workplace. I enjoy using StackOverflow whenever I have the time to do so.
Nowadays I work at Sense/Net, improving the open source Sense/Net ECMS and building business solutions on top of it.
How did I get here?
For some time, I was mostly (only) a .NET developer. I've became interested in Linux when I got myself a Nokia N900 and saw how nice its UI was. I'm kind of a UI person, I always deeply care about user interfaces and polish them for as long as I have the chance to do so. I also developed some small apps for the N900 with Qt. I dived deeper. I thought then, "If Linux can look this great on a mobile device, I sure have to try it on my laptop too!" And so it begun. Nowadays I use Fedora as my operating system. I need to fall back to Windows for my work. Right tool for the right job.
Since then, I'm always improving myself and I learn something new about Qt, Linux, or technology every day.
I always aspire to learn more, and I think that there is always room for improvement.
