Nemo Mobile

Nemo Mobile is a Linux distribution for mobile devices. Nemo uses Mer as core and the UX is based on MeeGo Handset UX. Nemo Mobile -project continues the work started at MeeGo Community Edition to create open community driven OS and apps. Currently initial Nemo port exists for Nokia N900 device and work is on-going to support Nokia N950 and Nokia N9. There is also some support for x86 based tablets/netbooks like ExoPC.

If you find problems with the Nemo image please add your findings to the list below. Please add prefix to the error based on your finding (ALL/N900/N950/ia32).

Missing/Broken

• ALL: Camera-app does not start
• ALL: Brigthness control panel does not affect brightness of device
• N950: Desktop width is wrong (looks like 800pix wide)
• N950: sometimes VKB and HW keyboard broken
• N950: Pin-query doesn't come up at boot
• ALL: System UI menu opens too much down (there is gap between the menu and status bar)
• ALL: WiFi works but indicator is broken
• ALL: Lots of red icons in home screen
• ALL: Missing apps: Dialer, SMS, People, Fennec, Peregrine, Calendar, Photos

Nemo 10-25.1 on N900

Works

• Startup screen works, Fall Release screen appeared
• qmlcalc works
• Real keyboard works (widgets gallery)
• USB networking works
• WiFi works & indicator works
• Region format works
• timezone works
• mtf-settings uses booster (like it should)

Missing

• VKB does not work FIXED: maliit was missnig from image configuration.
• Charging not started, replace charger message after boot
• Charging indicator not working FIXED: wrong battery plugin in image
• System notification background black instead of transparent FIXED: in Project:MTF
• sshd not up by default FIXED: Added workaround for this.
• mdecorator works funny sometimes (xterm looked incorrect at first start)
• maybe root pw and user account names should be changed from meego FIXED: changed meego to nemo in image configurations.
• after su to root or login via ssh: -bash: gconftool: command not found FIXED: in Project:MTF
• Two MTF widgets galleries, since booster is present only boosted needs to be shown. FIXED: ce-mtf-configs package missing from image.
• mtf-settings.desktop defines spashscreen, but the file is missing FIXED: in Project:MTF
• Control panel Wallpaper2 under applications category. FIXED: in Project:MTF atm. will promote after compile.
• Theme control panel does not show current theme and shows get more from ovistore
• Time & Date applet: Setting time does not work
• Language applet crashes
• About product does not show credits and shows MeeGo Release 1.2.90 as OS FIXED: ce-mtf-configs missing from image.
• Warrenty shows wrong warranty information FIXED: in Project:MTF
• Volume keys do not work
• System menu animation slow
• Quick launch bar is empty FIXED: ce-mtf-configs missing from image.
• Missing apps: Dialer, SMS, Meego Terminal, Camera, Helium, People, Fennec, Peregrine, Calendar, Photos, Music Shelf
