Mer uses the OBS as it's primary build system. It's a complex beast and needs a lot of looking after.
We have extended the OBS using a tool called 'fakeOBS'
fakeOBS allows you to work with upstream, remote, OBS systems.

Q: Do I need my own OBS?
A: To be clear:
- Most contributors should use the community OBS
- A local OBS is not mandatory eg the CE Release Engineers and developers don't have a local OBS
- If you fork Mer to extend it for a complete product... then you may decide to use your own OBS (Mer cares about this model)
- If you hire people and have closed code... then you likely need your own OBS (Mer cares about this model)
- If you have a Gentoo-like compulsive need to run your own server ... then you can have your own OBS (Mer cares less about this model :) )
