My experience with the Mer world is limited to Sailfish OS, but I like that there is this open project backing SFOS and would like to contribute if there is anything I could do. I have had a Jolla phone since 17 December 2013, but can't use it anymore since the USB connector stopped working. Right now I have Sailfish OS on a Jolla tablet and on a Fairphone 2. After being a hangaround on the Mer wiki for a while I how have a user account.
